Yes. The Basic Laparoscopic Surgery program is designed for MS/DNB Surgery graduates with limited laparoscopic exposure who want to build foundational skills through simulation, faculty demonstration and supervised clinical or OT exposure where applicable.

How many live cases will I operate on?

The small-batch format is designed to maximise supervised laparoscopic skills practice, faculty feedback and OT exposure where applicable. Exact patient-based participation and procedure numbers depend on consent, trainee eligibility, case availability, institutional policy and faculty supervision; no daily case count is guaranteed.

Dr. Nikhil Gupta (M.Ch. GI Surgery, G.B. Pant Hospital, 20+ years) and Dr. Ishan Sehgal (FMAS, FIAGES, FALS) lead the laparoscopic surgery training at Solace.

Open to MS/DNB (General Surgery) qualified doctors and final-year residents. Foundation track requires no prior laparoscopic experience; advanced and oncosurgery tracks require documented basic laparoscopic caseload.

Day-wise curriculum

Day 1-2

Core technique & simulator lab

Port placement, dissection technique, energy device handling.

Day 3-4

Assisted live OT cases

First and second assist roles in live laparoscopic procedures.

Day 5

Independent steps & review

Supervised independent operative steps, case-based debrief.

Certification
